Creating a Dial-Up Networking Connection for an ISP :

1. Go to Dialup Networking. If you don�t have a shortcut defined already double-click on the "My Computer" icon and you will see the Dialup Networking folder.

2. Double click on the "Make New Connection" icon. You will see a panel like this:

3. Change the name to some appropriate connection name. We used "SCOTHOSTS" in this example if your modem is installed properly it should automatically appear in the select a modem box.

4. Click next and you will be forwarded to a screen like this: (We have used the Scothosts dial-up details as an example - you are welcome to use these)

5. Click next and you will forward to the finish panel - click �finish� and you will be forwarded back to the main screen, where your new dial-up account should now appear:

6. Double-Click on the new connection and the computer will bring up a screen as below: (We have used Scothosts dial-up settings as an example, which you are welcome to use - the username and password are both shosts)

7. Clicking connect will launch the modem into dialing the internet, 2 small green screens will appear next to your clock to confirm your connection. Now you can go back to your desktop and launch Internet Explorer or Outlook Express.
